Can a dentist detect mouth cancer?2023-04-18T13:26:53+00:00

Dentists are healthcare professionals trained to detect mouth cancer. Mouth cancer can appear in different shapes and can affect all parts of the mouth, tongue and lips. It can appear as a painless ulcer that does not heal normally.

We do a very thorough inspection for mouth cancer at every check-up as we can see parts of your mouth that you cannot see. Mouth cancer kills over 1,700 people in the UK every year. Many of these deaths could be prevented if the cancer is caught early enough.

We use only digital x-rays which have been proven to require less radiation in order to get the images avoiding unnecessary exposure.
